SNSD thanks fans for their “The Boys” all-kill

Right before their first comeback stage on KBS‘s ‘Music Bank‘, the ladies of SNSD sat down with reporters in their waiting room to express their gratitude for their music chart ‘all-kill’ with “The Boys“.

The girls began, “We’re both excited and nervous every time we release a new album. There was some anticipation because it was our first Korean comeback in a while. Since ‘The Boys’ is different in style to the music SNSD previously presented, we were kind of worried as to how people would react. Still, our hearts were beating, and we were all more excited than ever.”

They continued, “We recorded our comeback in front of our fans today. Although it was our first stage, they all perfected their fan-chants, which we’re both glad and grateful for.”

With regards to their ‘all-kill’ on the charts, SNSD remarked, “Because we were all so preoccupied with our comeback preparations, we had no time to go on the internet. It wasn’t until today that we found out about our ranking on the charts. It’s something we didn’t expect, so we’re really thankful for that. There were a lot of songs that we had specially prepared for our album. We wanted to show them off to our fans so we’re glad that they even listened to our album. We have yet to begin our official promotional activities and are already receiving such love, so it makes us feel a bit more responsible to live up to everyone’s expectations.”

When asked whether they’re anticipating a music program win, they responded, “We haven’t thought of it. The members haven’t talked about winning yet. Instead of working with the thought of ‘placing first’, we want to prioritize showing what we couldn’t before. We trust that we will be met with positive results if we continue to work hard.”

Clap your hands for Dadoong~! ^_^

KBS once again denies JYJ’s appearance on ‘Music Bank’

JYJ‘s agency and KBS are at it once again over the issue of JYJ’s appearance on KBS’s ‘Music Bank’.

Back in May, KBS left a note on their website explaining why JYJ was barred from appearing on their music program. The note read, “JYJ’s lawsuit has yet to come to an end, and KBS is objectively observing this lawsuit… From a business perspective, however, allowing a celebrity who is in the midst of a legal dispute to appear on a broadcast can have a negative impact. Therefore, their appearance on ‘Music Bank’ will not be allowed.”

Responding, JYJ had said, “The lawsuit regarding JYJ’s contract with SM Entertainment (which KBS was referring to) was already acknowledged by the court as lopsided and disadvantageous to JYJ, and the contract was subsequently nullified. We believe that KBS’s stance does not match up with the facts. We strongly request for them to make corrections on their part.”

As fans continued to vocalize their objections, KBS changed their stance to, “JYJ hasn’t been able to make an appearance because they haven’t released an official album. If they release an album, then of course they’ll be allowed to chart [on 'Music Bank'].”

Now that the boys have indeed released an official album (and it’s been doing quite well on the charts), fans revived their petitions to see JYJ perform on ‘Music Bank’. It seems that KBS is flip-flopping on the issue once again, however, as they released the following statement through their website on October 19th:

“Although the official album and the injunction situation has changed, the lawsuit between SM and JYJ is still in process. The court has not made an official decision. We have to put a hold on the appearance of a celebrity who is in the middle of a lawsuit, and see how it progresses; until a decision comes out, our position will not change.”

JYJ’s agency, C-JeS, stated, “JYJ is in the midst of a lawsuit to straighten out the unfair contract that violates the personal rights of an artist, and the court has declared that JYJ was allowed to continue on with their promotions a second time. If KBS sticks to this position, then they need to present evidence that they will determine the appearance of all celebrities through these same standards.”

“If KBS respects the decision of the courts, they need to carry out the court’s decision, which state that JYJ is free to carry out their promotions. They should fulfill their duty as a public broadcast station.”

JYJ is currently receiving a lot of love for their Korean album from within Korea as well as overseas, and is planning to embark on a world tour.

Cha Seung Won discusses acting in T-ara’s new music video

Earlier, we reported that Cha Seung Won was cast to play a major role in T-ara‘s new music video. On October 19th, the actor was on set in Pusan filming alongside the girls, but he took a few moments to share his thoughts on his career.

Cha Seung Won commented, “I thought while seeing T-ara work so hard during filming that they had the potential to branch out. All the members have varying skill levels, but all of them do quite well.”

He also revealed that he’s had previous experience acting for music video.

“Previously, I was cast in the MV for Position‘s ‘I Love You‘. I became involved in T-ara’s video because I know their agency head.”

Cha Seung Won continued, “I’m not sure if it’s because I usually get no time off, but after ‘The Greatest Love‘ ended, I wanted to act again and I got a request to be in this music video. But after doing this music video, I’ve decided that I wanted to rest again.”

Still, it looks like there might be something in the works for Cha Seung Won. “There’s something for early next year, but nothing’s been decided.”

T-ara’s new music video will be a 30-minute drama, and is being filmed for one week with little breaks in between sessions. Actor Ji Chang Wook will also be in the music video.
