Taeyang and HyunA chosen as "The next Rain and Hyori"

On this week's episode of MBC Everyone's "Weekly Idol", Big Bang’s Taeyang and 4minute’s HyunA were picked by other idol singers to be “The Next Rain and Hyori”.

During the show, a survey asked the group of real-life idols to pick “five idol singers with the most potential to follow in the success of Rain and Hyori”. Taeyang and HyunA received the most votes beating out B2ST’s Lee Gi Kwang, Jay Park, SNSD’s Yuri, and G.NA. More suprisingly, most members of Infinite, MBLAQ, U-Kiss, and B1A4 voted for HyunA which caught the interest of the fans.

MBC Everyone’s “Weekly Idol” has recently getting a lot of attention for the segment, “Real Chart! Idol’s Self-Ranking”, a survey asking popular idol singers. This week's survey heated up due to the recent enlisment of Rain in the army, while Hyori is busy spending her time on show-hosting roles.

RAIN shines at the training base

A picture of singer and actor Rain (Jeong Ji-hoon) entering the training base has been revealed.

On October 13th a message board posted a picture of him entering the training base. He was admitted to the Euijeongbu 306 training base on October 11th with the farewell of 1000 or so fans.

In the picture, Rain is listening to instructions before entering the base. Even amongst several people, Rain is spotted right away. Although he has short hair and is looking quite nervous, his appearance and height stand out enough for the fans to catch him.

Those who have seen the picture say, "His posture's so upright I can spot him right away", "I can see him bum from here, nice!", "Do your best" and more.

Meanwhile, after four days of lecturing at the 306 base, he will be dispatched to a basic training camp for five weeks, then will be serving 21 months as an active soldier.

Rain to Face Reinvestigation for Alleged Shareholder Swindle

Korean singer-actor Rain will be reinvestigated for allegations of embezzlement, prosecutors said yesterday.

In January of this year, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office cleared the singer, whose legal name is Jung Ji-hoon, of the charges, saying the allegations turned out not to be true after tracing the company's cash flow.

After the plaintiff filed for an appeal, however, the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office ordered another investigation of the case, saying it is not clear whether Rain modeled for the company or solely for his own benefit.

In addition, prosecutors pointed out that the previous investigation was inconclusive with regard to whether the company paid rental fees for Rain's car (30 million won) and entertainment office (47 million won).

Meanwhile, Rain is at the center of plagiarism allegations. His latest single "Busan Woman", released Aug. 16, is alleged to have been copied from American singer-songwriter Raphael Saadiq's "Detroit Girl" (2004).

가수 '비'(본명 정지훈·29·사진)가 횡령 혐의로 검찰의 재수사를 받게 됐다. 서울고검은 지난해 말 서울중앙지검이 무혐의 처분을 내렸던 비의 횡령사건을 다시 수사하라고 '재기수사' 명령을 내렸다고 4일 밝혔다.

비 가 최대 주주로 있는 J사의 투자자인 이모씨는 지난해 4월 "비가 의류사업 전속 모델료 명목으로 22억5000만원을 받았다"며 비를 특정경제범죄가중처벌법상 사기와 횡령, 배임 혐의로 고소했다. 사건을 맡았던 서울중앙지검 조사부는 "J사가 실제로 의류사업을 했고 모델료가 주관적 개념이어서 배임 의사를 갖고 모델료를 부풀려 줬다고 보기 힘들다"며 지난해 12월 무혐의 결론을 내렸다.

하 지만 서울고검은 J사가 의류사업을 시작하기 전에 비 모델료로 자본금의 50%에 달하는 22억5000만원을 일시에 지급한 점을 재수사 명령의 근거로 삼았다. 또 J사 측이 자본금 중 일부를 빼내 비와 관련된 회사와 인물에게 빌려줬고, 사업 개시 1년 만에 해당 회사가 폐업 상태에 놓인 것도 사기의 고의가 있다고 판단했다.

한편 비는 자신의 공금횡령 의혹을 보도한 언론사 기자 2명을 상대로 손해배상 소송을 냈다. 법원은 지난 7월 두 기자에 대해 비에게 각각 3000만원, 2000만원을 배상하라고 판결했다.

◆ 재기수사 명령=고등검찰청은 지방검찰청의 불기소 처분에 대해 추가 수사를 할 필요성이 있다고 판단되면 재수사를 명할 수 있다. 재기수사 명령은 반드시 기소를 해야 하는 '공소제기' 명령과는 다르다. 지방검찰청은 재수사 후 또 다시 '혐의 없음'으로 기소를 하지 않을 수도 있다.
